CLEAN AIR PARTNERSHIP HOLDS FIRST-EVER LUNCHBOX GIVEAWAY
New Promotion is Designed to Help Keep Individuals Updated on the Region’s Air Quality
ST. LOUIS, MO., JULY 24, 2006
The St. Louis Regional Clean Air Partnership (The Partnership) today announced that, now through the remainder of the summer, individuals who visit The Partnership’s website at www.cleanair-stlouis.com and sign up to receive the daily air quality forecast will receive a complimentary Clean Air Partnership insulated lunchbox, while supplies last.
The special promotion is designed to give individuals an extra incentive to visit The Partnership’s website, so they can learn more about the air quality issues in our region and stay informed of air quality conditions during the remainder of the summer. Featuring The Partnership’s logo, the lunchboxes are stuffed with a wealth of air quality information and a variety of clean air themed souvenirs. They also serve as a reminder that brown-bagging lunch is a great way to avoid mid-day automobile trips that contribute to poor air quality.
“The region often sees its worst air quality conditions during the second half of the Air Quality Forecasting Season, so it’s an important time for residents to stay up-to-date on the daily air quality forecast,” said Susannah Fuchs, Air Quality Director for the American Lung Association and spokesperson for The Partnership. “By giving away the lunchboxes, we’re hoping to get the air quality forecast directly into the hands of many people who aren’t currently receiving it, and provide those who may not be aware of the dangers associated with poor air quality with information on what they can do to help reduce ozone forming emissions in our area.”
To learn more about the lunchbox giveaway or the region’s air quality, or for information on what you can do to care about clean air at home, at work and on the road, log on to The Partnership’s website at www.cleanair-stlouis.com or call (314) 436-9090.
The St. Louis Regional Clean Air Partnership was formed in 1995, led by the American Lung Association, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, East-West Gateway Council of Governments, Washington University and others, to increase awareness of regional air quality issues and to encourage activities to reduce air pollution emissions.
